Enough

You are counting what is gone. Most people who arrive at this verse are.

Jeremiah counted too, and then he counted something else. A portion is the share handed out when an estate is divided, and it was the word used for the one tribe that received no land at all: God told the Levites that He Himself was their inheritance instead (Numbers 18:20). So this is not a man talking himself down off a loss. It is a man naming an asset. Sitting in the ash of a burned city he says the LORD is my portion, and the lines just above it say what that portion contains: mercies that do not fail, compassions new every morning, great faithfulness (3:22-23).

Not one item on that list depends on the city standing. His compassions were new the morning the walls came down. They were new the morning after. They have been new every morning since, in Babylon, in the ruins, in the years nobody wrote down.
