Great Babylon
“And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?”
Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honour of my majesty? Nebuchadnezzar said that walking on his own roof, looking at his own city.
The verse today is the same mouth, after seven times of eating grass in a field with the dew on him. And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou? Both sentences are in one chapter. The chapter is written in the first person, which means the king put his name to the account of his own madness and had it published across the empire.
His last line is the one to carry: those that walk in pride he is able to abase. He found that out in a field. It was just as true on the roof.
