Strength and Power
“God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect. He maketh my feet like hinds' feet: and setteth me upon my high places.”
An old man at the end of a life mostly spent being hunted, dictating a song, with someone writing it down. He does not claim he became surefooted. He maketh my feet like hinds' feet, and a deer's footing is built for high ground, where a slip costs everything. The verbs are all God's: maketh, maketh, setteth.
God, I am not qualified for this and everyone but me seems fine about it. Make the way. Make the feet. Set me where you intend me to stand, and go up first. Amen.
