Strength When Heart Fails

“My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.”

Psalm 73:26(King James Version)

Maybe you are running on empty today. It is not a crisis, and that is what makes it so tiring.

Asaph knew that kind of tiredness. He had watched crooked men do well until, as he says, "my feet were almost gone." Here he admits the collapse plainly: "My flesh and my heart faileth." Then, with no warning, the verse names God. He does not simply top up the little strength Asaph has left. God Himself becomes "the strength of my heart," and He is a "portion for ever" that outlasts the body that failed. So you do not have to make up strength you do not have. You may lean on Him.
