The psalm ends by stretching God's keeping over "thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore." This is a song for travellers, and it takes the road's dangers for granted. Nothing here promises that nothing will ever hit you. It promises a keeping that goes deeper than your plans and your body. It reaches your soul, the part of you that could truly be lost, and it never runs out. So ask yourself which of the two you have been asking Him to keep. Your soul is in hands that will hold it for evermore.
