This Is the Way
“And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.”
Two roads, a kitchen table, a list that did not help.
The voice in Isaiah comes from behind, which is a strange place for guidance until you notice why. It speaks when you have already begun to veer, to the right hand or to the left. And look what Judah put down first: the very next verse has them throwing away their silver and gold images. Direction followed surrender.
The Egypt you keep calling is welcome to be set down today. Then move, and listen behind you.
